Volunteering

Practical conservation volunteers

There are two weekly practical volunteering sessions held at Chard Reservoir every week. One on a Wednesday morning from 9.30am to 12.30pm and one on a Friday from 10am to 3pm. The types of tasks they do include litter picking, maintenance of the paths, maintenance of the woodland play area, hedge laying, tree planting and much more. You do not need to have any experience to join in, just a willingness to get involved and a passion for nature.

The volunteer tasks are physical in nature so you need to have a fairly good level of fitness.

If you would like to join the volunteers please call the ranger Hannah Stanton on 07971 111 955 or email hannah.stanton@southsomerset.gov.uk to check if there are places available.
